Australia
Another one of our World Around Us Topics is Australia. We learn about where Australia is, we compare the Australian way of life to ours and we find out more about the animals that live there. Here are some of the activities we get involved in:
- We use Google Maps to locate Australia on the World Map. We look at the states and territories in Australia, famous landmarks as well as the Great Barrier Reef.
- We learn more about James Cook and find out what he is famous for.
- We research Australian animals and use our ICT skills to showcase our findings.
- We listen to Australian musical instruments and make our own using everyday materials.
- We investigate Aboriginal art and create our own masterpieces.
- We learn a bit more about what Christmas is like in Australia too.
