Rainforests
We have really enjoyed this topic. We learned lots about different rainforest animals, the layers of the rainforest, deforestation, rainforest climate, where rainforests are in the world and we took a closer look at the Amazon rainforest. Here are some of the activities that we got involved in:
- We had fun tasting fruits found in the rainforest and then voted for our favourite fruit. We then used the data to create a graph to show the most popular rainforest fruit in our class.
- We love the great outdoors and so we headed outside and drew rainforest trees on the playground using chalk and measured them to fully understand how tall the trees were in the rainforest.
- In art we studied the work of Henri Rousseau and recreated our own version of his work 'Tiger in a Tropical Storm'.
- We also listened to sounds in the rainforest and discussed what we could hear.
